  • Notes
    • 1 Still a very formidable matriach when I met her in 1967.

2 She still ruled the family from her cottage in N.E.valley, Dunedin,

but was much loved as Nana by all the grandchildren.

3 She did enjoy a day at the races.

4 For a time, she was an honorary JP in Dunedin; a fact of which she
was very proud, though she modestly said she thought it was on account
of Arthur's union activity while alive!
